During a merit cycle, an administrator gives you a worksheet with the people you are responsible for and a budget. You propose each person's new salary, and optionally a bonus, then submit the worksheet for approval.

Who can do this: Managers with a worksheet in an active merit cycle

Where: Compensation β†’ Worksheets (My Worksheets), or the link in your worksheet email

Fill in the worksheet

  1. Open your worksheet. Read your administrator's instructions and note the deadline in the budget bar.

  2. For each employee, check their Current salary, Compa-ratio, Performance and Gender Pay Gap.

  3. Enter the Proposed salary, or the change. If an administrator has turned on suggestions, a proposed value may already be filled in.

  4. To add a one-time bonus, select Add bonus. Bonuses are paid once when the cycle is applied and aren't added to monthly salary.

  5. Add a Rationale. If the cycle requires it, a Justification is needed for a 0% change.

  6. Watch the budget bar: Budget, Progress, Avg. salary and Avg. bonus.

Submit

  1. Each row shows Not ready or Ready to submit. Fix any rows that are not ready.

  2. Select Submit Worksheet, or select rows and Submit Selected.

  3. Review the budget summary and confirm.

Your proposals then go through the approval steps your administrators have set up.

Good to know

  • The cycle's rules may warn you or block you, for example when an increase is above the maximum. Warnings let you continue; blocks don't.

  • If the cycle doesn't allow going over budget, you'll see Cannot submit β€” over budget.

  • Switch the display currency between Native (each employee's own currency) and the cycle currency.

  • You can't propose a change to your own pay.

  • Changes to salaries only take effect when an administrator applies the cycle.
