Pay equity analysis

Running your first pay equity analysis

Get from your imported data to a first pay gap result, and find earlier runs.

A pay equity analysis calculates your pay gaps, groups employees doing work of equal value and finds what drives the differences. Each run is saved, so you can compare results over time.

Who can do this: Administrators

Where: Pay Equity β†’ Overview

Before you start

Run the analysis

  1. Open Pay Equity β†’ Overview. If nothing has run yet, the page shows No analysis yet.

  2. Select Run first analysis, or Run analysis in the header for later runs.

  3. Follow the progress in the sidebar. You can cancel a running analysis there.

  4. When it finishes, the Overview shows your key metrics, pay gaps and groups.

Check the result before activating

Review the employee count and coverage in the Overview and compare them with the population you intended to analyse. Check your organisation or entity view, selected pay components, pay factors and filters, including the tenure filter. Investigate unexpected missing employees or pay amounts before relying on the result.

A blank, unavailable or privacy-suppressed result is not a zero pay gap. Review the explanation shown on the page and your source data. See Reading the Overview tab.

Turn on alerts

Your first run doesn't create alerts. Alerts start once you activate the baseline with Activate baseline. See Activating your baseline (why there are no alerts yet).

Earlier runs

Use the Analysis History stepper to move between runs with Older run, Newer run and Latest. A past run opens read-only, with a banner showing its date and a link back to the latest run.

The predicted pay chart and the Reports tab use your current data, so they show a note instead of figures when you view a past run.

Good to know

  • By default, employees with at least 6 months of tenure are included. Change this with the filters on the page.

  • Administrators can delete a stored run with Delete snapshot.

  • Run the analysis again after you import new data or change pay factors.
