Bulk compensation editing lets you change pay components for a group of employees in one go, for example to add a new benefit or apply a general increase.
Who can do this: people with compensation edit rights, normally Administrators.
Where: Employees β Overview β select rows β Edit compensation
Edit items
Use the Edit items tab to change individual components:
Add item: add a component to everyone selected.
Update amount: change an existing component.
Remove item: remove a component.
When updating an amount, choose how:
Set to amount: everyone gets the same value.
Change by amount: add or subtract a fixed amount.
Change by %: increase or decrease by a percentage.
Replace structure
Use Replace structure to give everyone selected the same set of components, replacing what they have now.
Steps
Select the employees and choose Edit compensation.
Set up the changes on Edit items or Replace structure.
Select Preview changes and check the before and after values.
Select Apply to N employees.
Good to know
Connected HR or payroll data: the next integration sync may overwrite pay fields you edit here. Check which system maintains those fields and make lasting changes in that source system where appropriate. See Managing a connection.
Each change is recorded in the person's history with the source Bulk edit.
For planned pay rounds with budgets and manager input, use a merit cycle instead (see Merit cycles: an overview).
