Instead of creating pay band rules one by one, you can generate them from your current pay data, and adjust many bands at once later.
Who can do this: Administrators.
Where: Compensation β Pay Bands.
Generate pay bands
Select Generate Bands.
In Split bands by, choose the dimensions. Each combination gets its own band, for example one per job family and level.
Optionally limit generation with filters, such as Only for these positions.
Choose a strategy:
Smooth formula: set a base salary, Tier step %, Band width % and Round to.
Median + fixed spread: centre each band on current median pay.
Empirical percentiles (P10βP90): use the spread of current pay.
To start from what you pay today, use Detect from current or Set band values from current pay.
Choose what happens When a rule exists: Update existing (changes the band values, keeps the dimensions), Skip (leaves existing rules untouched) or Create New. Create New makes duplicate rules and isn't recommended.
Review the preview and confirm.
Adjust pay bands in bulk
Select the rules to change, then Adjust Bands (or Adjust N selected).
Choose Percentage or Flat amount (monthly).
Choose which values to change: Min, Mid and/or Max.
Select Preview, check the result, then Apply Changes.
Good to know
Generated bands are ordinary rules. You can edit, archive or delete them afterwards.
Bands generated from current pay reflect today's pay, including any existing gaps. Review them before you activate them.
Pay bands can also be imported from a CSV file.
