A pay band is the pay range for a group of jobs. In Evenpay, each band is a pay band rule: a range plus the dimensions that decide who it applies to.
Who can do this: Administrators.
Where: Compensation β Pay Bands.
Create a rule
Select Add rule.
Choose the Dimensions the rule matches on: Job Family, Job Level, Job Grade, Career Path, Position, Org Unit, Country, City, Worksite or Custom Field.
Enter the band values: Min, Mid and Max, as monthly amounts. Each can be Static or Formula. A rule needs at least a min or a max.
Set the Priority and, if useful, Internal notes. Notes are visible only to administrators, never to managers or employees.
Choose the status: Active or Draft.
Save.
Which rule applies
The most specific matching rule wins.
If two rules are equally specific, the one with higher priority wins.
A rule with no dimensions applies as a fallback for all positions.
Which pay counts
By default, the band compares against the components marked Include in Salary Band in Components & benefits. A rule can choose Override organization defaults for this rule to use a different set.
The pay bands list
Columns: Name, Dimensions, Band, Min/Mid/Max, Spread, Matched (employees and positions) and Status.
Band values out of order warns when Min, Mid and Max aren't ascending.
A Synced badge marks rules created from your HR system. They are overwritten on the next sync unless you edit them by hand.
Open a rule to see band fit (below, in band, above), a gender breakdown and the gender pay gap inside the band.
Archive or delete
Use Show archived to see archived rules. Archiving is safer than deleting: when you delete a rule, positions that used it lose their band.
Good to know
To create many bands at once from your current pay data, see Generating and adjusting pay bands.
If you use entities, pay bands are local to each entity by default.
