How the group and entities work
The group, its entities, and what changes once you add a second entity.

Evenpay organises your company as a group with entities below it. Entities are your legal entities and subsidiaries, and how they nest.
The group
Every organisation has a group. It is created automatically and carries your organisation's name. The group holds everything shared across the company, and it can also hold head office employees.
Entities
Entities sit below the group and can be nested as deeply as you need, for example a subsidiary with its own subsidiaries below it. Access, filters and backups that apply to an entity also cover every entity below it.
Employees
Every employee belongs to exactly one entity.
Employees who are not placed in an entity belong to the group.
When an employee moves to another entity, Evenpay keeps the history, so reports for past periods use the entity the employee belonged to at the time.
If you have only one entity
If you don't add any entities, Evenpay works exactly as before. The entity switcher, entity columns and entity fields only appear once a second entity exists.
Entities and countries
Each employee still has their own country, which is separate from their entity. An entity can have its own currency (see Setting up your entities).
