Placing employees in entities
Assign employees to entities with a CSV import or an HR system connection.

Employees are placed in entities through imports and HR system connections. An employee you add by hand belongs to the group.
CSV import
When you have two or more entities, the import adds:
an optional Business Entity column. Values are matched to entity names, and you can map values that are spelled differently;
a Default entity. Rows without a Business Entity value, or with a value that matches no entity, go here.
Naming a different entity for an existing employee moves them to that entity. The preview shows how many rows go to each entity.
If you import while you are in an entity's view, the import only changes that entity and the entities below it. Job levels and job families belong to the group, so an import for one entity can't create them.
HR system connection
Each connection belongs to the group or to one entity. In the connection's settings, under Entity:
Owner sets which entity the connection belongs to. A connection owned by an entity only reads and writes that entity's employees.
Default entity sets where new employees go.
To split employees across entities, map the Business entity field to your HR system's company code. A mapped code places or moves the employee. An unmapped code sends new employees to the default entity and shows a warning.
When an employee moves
Moves are recorded in the audit log. If the new entity can't see the employee's position, org unit or worksite, that value is cleared and you get a warning.
