Pay information requests

Comparison groups and anonymity

Who an employee is compared with, and how Evenpay protects colleagues' privacy.

A pay information report compares the employee's pay with a comparison group of colleagues doing the same work or work of equal value. To protect those colleagues, Evenpay only shows group figures when the group is large enough.

Comparison Strategy

  • Equal value positions only (default): colleagues in the same work of equal value group.

  • Position-based only: colleagues in the same position.

  • Auto (position, then equal value): the position if it is large enough, otherwise the equal value group.

Anonymity Threshold

The minimum number of employees in a comparison group before pay data can be shown. The default is 5, and you can set 2–50.

  • The gender breakdown has its own minimum: each gender needs at least half the threshold, rounded up, and never fewer than 3 people. If either gender is too small, the breakdown is hidden.

  • Changes apply to reports generated from now on.

When the group is too small

An employee whose group is below the threshold can't submit a request through the portal. If you send information yourself, the employee's Pay Information Request tab warns that sending directly could reveal colleagues' pay. You can then:

  • Send to Employee Representative: enter the representative's email and choose a report language. The Directive lets member states provide this route when sharing the information would identify individuals. Check your national rules.

  • Send Anyway: override the threshold. The override is recorded in the audit log.

Report Display Period (monthly, annual or hourly), Salary Values Shown, Hide Zero-Value Components, Show Comparison Point and Show Comparison Group Name.

Good to know

  • For a reliable comparison, check your work of equal value groups first. See Work of equal value groups.

  • Pay figures are calculated on the basis set under Pay Calculation: current contractual gross salary, the last 12 months, or the last full calendar year.
