Early Access: turn this on in Settings β†’ Organization β†’ Early access.

Offers & moves helps you set pay for a new hire or an internal move. Every offer is checked against the pay band, peers' pay and your gender pay gap before it's made.

Who can do this: Administrators.

Where: Compensation β†’ Offers β†’ New offer.

Build an offer

  1. Who is this for: a new hire or an existing employee.

  2. Which position.

  3. Where they work: country, city and worksite. Together with the position, these decide which pay band applies.

  4. What they are paid: enter amounts at full-time equivalent. Set Hours per week to see the part-time amount.

  5. About the person (optional): questions about pay factors such as experience.

  6. Justification.

Offer guidance

The panel on the right shows:

  • the guidance status: Within guidance, Needs justification, Compensation review or Approval required;

  • where the offer sits in the pay band, by quarter;

  • peers' pay in similar positions;

  • the effect on the pay gap: Narrows the gap or Widens the gap.

If no pay band applies, you'll see No pay band applies here, and you need a band before you can make the offer.

Recruitment policy

Settings β†’ Offers sets your recruitment policy. The defaults are:

  • 5% negotiation room;

  • offers capped at the third quarter of the band;

  • a hiring range from the first to the third quarter;

  • approval needed above the limit;

  • a pay gap review when an offer widens the gap by more than 1 percentage point.

Decide

  • Approve this amount is needed when an offer is above the limit. Approval covers that amount and anything lower.

  • Mark as accepted or Decline. You can withdraw offers in bulk.

  • An accepted new hire creates an inactive employee, to be activated on their first day.

Good to know

  • Every decided offer keeps a frozen record of the figures as they were on the day.

  • Peers' pay is hidden when the comparison group is too small.

  • The offer's currency is always the currency of the pay band that applies.
