Evaluating a position gives it a score, places it in a grade and suggests a job level.
Who can do this: Administrators, and managers for positions in their teams if an administrator allows it.
Where: open a position and select Start evaluation (or Re-evaluate). Administrators can also use Positions β Evaluation to work through many positions.
Steps
If more than one framework applies, choose one. It may be Assigned automatically by a selection rule.
If the framework asks for it, Select a career track.
Answer the questions. You can skip a question; skipped questions carry no weight.
Review the Evaluation summary, including the Suggested Level.
Select Save evaluation. When working through a list, use Save & Continue or Save & Finish.
Drafts
If you stop before answering everything, the evaluation is saved as a Draft (Save draft Β· N unanswered). A draft has no score and no suggested level until you finish it.
Suggested and manual levels
If you set a position's level by hand, it shows Level set manually. Re-evaluating doesn't change it until you select Apply suggested level.
Administrators can use Set total by hand to override the score. A Reason is required, and it isn't available on drafts.
The Evaluation tab
Administrators only:
Select positions and use Evaluate Selected, Clear Evaluation Score or Recalculate Positions.
Evaluation Matrix shows positions on a grid. Turn on Heatmaps to see where scores cluster.
Good to know
Positions evaluated before a framework changed scale show Outdated. Re-evaluate them.
The Evaluation Matrix isn't available when several frameworks or selection rules are active.
