Pay equity alerts

How Evenpay raises alerts for pay gaps, how severity works and how to close an alert.

Pay equity alerts flag groups of comparable employees where the gender pay gap is above your threshold. Each alert is a piece of work: explain the gap, plan an adjustment, or close it with a reason.

Who can do this: Administrators

Where: Compliance β†’ Alerts; settings in Settings β†’ Pay equity & transparency β†’ Pay equity alerts

When alerts are raised

  • Alerts are checked after each analysis run, once your baseline is active. See Activating your baseline (why there are no alerts yet).

  • Alerts are raised for groups (equal value groups and positions), never for individual employees.

  • A group must have at least the Minimum Group Size and both genders.

Thresholds must be in ascending order. Change them under Pay Gap Thresholds and select Save Changes, or Reset to Defaults.

Working on an alert

  1. Open the alert from the Pay Gap Alerts list or your Home page.

  2. Review Key Metrics: the raw pay gap and how much is explained.

  3. Explain differences with pay rationale tags. See Explaining gaps with pay rationale tags.

  4. Follow the Recommended Actions, or add pay equity tasks.

  5. When you're done, select Close Alert and choose a reason.

Closing reasons

  • Alert has been finished

  • Can't justify the remaining gap: notes are required.

  • Alert was not valid: notes are required.

Good to know

  • Statuses are Active, Pending resolution, Under Review, Resolved and Dismissed.

  • Use Active alerts and Archived to switch views. Each alert keeps a Version history.

  • The System Pay Rationale settings control whether Evenpay creates, updates and removes system rationales automatically.

  • Under the Directive, a gap of 5% or more that you can't justify with objective, gender-neutral factors may require a joint pay assessment with employee representatives.
